Location: Somerville Recreation Centre (Somerville) & Civic Reserve Recreation Centre (Mornington) Employment Type: Full time About the Role As the Sports Program Coordinator, you'll be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of inclusive and dynamic sports programs. From community competitions and school partnerships to casual leagues and tournaments, you’ll ensure programs run smoothly, participants are engaged, and everyone is having fun in a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and evaluate sports and recreation programs
- Coordinate competition schedules, team registrations, and fixtures
- Liaise with schools, clubs, and community groups to grow participation
- Supervise program staff, officials, and volunteers
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and venue policies
- Promote programs through community outreach and social media
- Monitor & Manage program bookings, equipment usage, and feedback
About You You’re a self-starter with a passion for sport and recreation, and you thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. You enjoy working with diverse age groups and have experience running or coordinating sports programs or competitions. You’ll also bring: - Previous experience in sport/recreation program delivery
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise teams
- Sound computer literacy (Microsoft Office and sport software platforms)
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Relevant qualification in Sport & Recreation, PE, or Community Development (desirable)
