This is a great opportunity for qualified coaches who enjoy swimming, love working with children, who want to teach the skills of swimming and the value of water safety.

The Role

As a Squad Coach, you will be responsible for planning and delivering quality programming with the aim of progression to our competitive squad levels. To promote attendance in a positive training environment, that provides the opportunity for all swimmers in the program to succeed.

You may be required to work across 3 sites including; Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre & Cook and Philip Park Pool. 

The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a capacity to deliver the following essential skills:

• Effectively lead a team to develop the program and pathway to achieve the outcomes
• Ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective operations of the squad program within company and legislative guidelines.
• Actively promote the squad program and participation in the affiliated Swimming Club.
• Ensure that you are adequately qualified for the program you are delivering and all squad activities are conducted in a safe manner in a safe environment, as per the company guidelines.
• Monitor Progression of swimmers through the squad program and work with the Swimming and Water Safety program to identify talented swimmers and encourage participation in the squad program.
• In conjunction with the squad program, encourage participation in and conduct all swimming competitions in a safe manner in a safe environment.

Essential Requirements

• Teacher of Competitive Swimming / Competitive Strokes
• Bronze level Qualification - Preferred
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current CPR Certificate
• Valid Working with Children Check
• National Police Check
• Previous experience and success in a comparable role
• Excellent verbal communication skills
