About the role

 

Reporting to the National Aquatic Safety Manager, and working closely with the Belgravia Safety Team you are responsible for ensuring a high level of aquatic safety compliance is maintained within the states. The hands-on role involves the application of education, mentoring and coaching strategies to empower venue teams to more effectively manage aquatic safety related risks, whilst developing a proactive safety culture whereby chronic unease is promoted through the Triple A’s for Aquatic Safety methodology.  

 

Based out of Belgravia operated venues and linking in closely with regional and area management teams, the role is pivotal in in maintaining a macro-overview of preseason operational requirements, ensuring that aspects including recruitment, risk management, training and induction are all on track, prompting hands on support as required.

 

Skills and experience that make you stand out...

 

ESSENTIAL:

  • A commitment to drive a culture of safety excellence
  • A tertiary qualification in WHS or related discipline or significant WHS experience
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of AUS WHS legislation, codes of practice and other requirements
  • Experienced with internal audits
  • Attention to detail and experience producing safety reporting
  • Identify gaps in effective aquatic safety management and articulate improvements opportunities to enhance risk mitigation
  • Ability to communicate compliance with Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations across multiple venues
  • Team player

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pool Plant Operations qualification
  • Current lifeguard qualifications
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check (or Equivalent)
  • National Police Check

DESIRABLE:

  • Confidence presenting on technical area in external forums
  • Cert IV in Training and Education
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • Previous experience working as a lifeguard, duty manager or operational coordinator
