We are on the hunt for an outstanding people leader to coach, inspire and lead our Moonee Valley based teams… If that is you, read on! The Role: The Area Manager is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Aquatic and Fitness facilities within Moonee Valley City Council. Through the leadership and development of your teams, you are accountable for the operational performance, financial and program deliverables of each facility, whilst utilising your exceptional leadership skills to motivate the team of professionals. You will develop and execute plans through engagement with the leadership team to ensure the provision of consistent quality services and programs to members and guests. The Area Manager will become embedded in Moonee Valley and have an intimate knowledge of health and wellbeing needs and priorities. Through collaboration and partnership building within Council, they will deliver industry leading programs and innovation to respond to health and well-being needs of the community. The facilities include: - Keilor East Leisure Centre
- Ascot Vale Leisure Centre
- Queens Park Pool
- As well as programs and engagement within the Moonee Valley community.
Skills and Attributes: - Proven leadership across multi‑site, service‑based or leisure operations
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting and driving profitability
- Ability to lead operational consistency and uplift customer experience across multiple venues
- Exceptional coaching capability to support and develop Venue Managers and frontline teams
- Experience building relationships with contract partners and external stakeholders
- Practical understanding of compliance, OHS and public safety frameworks
- Strategic and market-based thinker who can balance long term direction with day-to-day performance
- Energetic, inclusive and values-based leadership style

You combine strategic thinking with hands‑on support, building strong relationships with councils, teams, and community stakeholders.
