We are looking for an up-and-coming people leader to coach, inspire and lead the team!

 

The Role

 

An exciting position currently exists for a Venue Manager to oversee and develop aquatic operations and services at our leisure centre in North Moreton. You will be a suitably qualified leader, with experience in the operations and programming of aquatics facilities and/or multi-purpose leisure facilities.

 

You will be a strong leader who can mentor and develop an enthusiastic team. With a successful track record in venue operations, marketing, business development and program management you will continue to develop the venue’s relationship with clients, the community, stakeholders and the local Council.

 

As the Venue Manager you will be accountable for the facility’s operations, financial performance and program deliverables. You will deliver and drive exceptional customer service and a culture of innovation.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Coach and develop leaders to deliver on KPIs through engagement, performance planning and individual development plans.
  • Lead and drive a high performance community minded culture through highly visible and hands-on leadership and team engagement.
  • Maintain a high value relationship with local Council
  • Implement a high value customer service proposition that addresses the needs of the clients
  • Recruitment of energetic, diverse and passionate employees as required to compliment the team and the vision for the Centre.
  • Train staff as required to ensure that knowledge and capability are at the required levels to enable staff to carry out their work and achieve their objectives.
  • Identify staff and develop career progression paths that lead to transparent and effective succession decisions when required.
  • Maintain facilities to approved standards in line with contract requirements.

About You

 

You have experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to achieve successful outcomes. Possessing strong communication skills, you are able to build rapport and positive relationships with people. With a flair and ability to positive influence and negotiate win-win outcomes, you lead by example.

 

You have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation. You possess values such as integrity, excellence, courage, openness, respect, leadership and accountability.  It's desirable you have experience in aquatic operations and a good understanding of asset management.

 

Essential

  • Blue Card (Working with Children Check & Police Check)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2)
  • Current CPR
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate  
  • Pool Operators Certificate

If you do not currently hold the pool LG and Operators certificates - our Belgravia RTO will be happy to assist the successful applicant with obtaining these qualifications

 

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or experience (2 plus years) in venue management
  • Management Experience
  • Financial Management Experience
  • HR Management Experience
