This is a great opportunity for qualified lifeguards who value water safety, love working with people, who want to keep the community safe in our facilities. The Role As a key member of the Centre’s Operations Team, the Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and patrons at our aquatic facilities, including 50m, leisure and hydrotherapy pools. Key to the role is conveying information with authority and acting as a positive role model for healthy and connected communities, while maintaining a fun and safe environment for all. Accountabilities: - Maintaining constant supervision of all patrons within the aquatic facility and conduct routine patrols to ensure the safety of their designated areas
- Promoting and enforcing a culture of safety to patrons using the aquatic areas with specific attention to the Royal Life Saving Keep Watch Policy
- Performing various pool maintenance duties as directed, to maintain a clean and safe facility
- Acting immediately and appropriately to assist patrons in the event of an emergency
- Following and leading with centre emergency action plans and procedures as required.
Skills and Experience: - Experience as a strong swimmer
- Knowledge of:
- lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measures
- rules and regulations re conduct of the public at pools
Qualifications: - Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Royal Life Saving NSW Lifeguard Certificate
- Ability to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
