The Site


The town of Wiluna is 966 kilometres northeast of Perth and is situated on the edge of the desert at the gateway to the Canning Stock Route and Gunbarrel Highway.


Wiluna Public Swimming Pool in WA has a 25 metre swimming pool, toddlers pool and grassed area with a season running from late October to April.


The Role


An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Centre Manager who is able to relocate to Wiluna for the 20/21 season.  Responsible for the management of this facility you will be accountable for the Centre’s operational, safety and customer service deliverables.


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and employees through effective planning and oversight of polices, processes and procedures.
  • Provide supervision of the pools to ensure patron safety, compliance with pool rules and the Watch Around Water program.
  • Train staff as required to ensure that knowledge and capability are at the required levels to enable staff to carry out their work and achieve their objectives.
  • Maintain facilities to approved standards in line with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate aquatic programs to suit local community needs
  • Maintain the pools according to the WA Aquatic Code of Practice


About You

You will require strong work ethic and ability to work unsupervised to be successful in this role.  Cultural awareness of working in remote WA, strong problem solving, negotiation and communication skills will also be required.


Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current Pool Lifeguard qualification
  • Pool Operations Certificate for Group 1 Pools
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2)
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Legal working rights in Australia



  • Experience managing remote swimming pools
  • Intermediate – Advanced skills in MS Office package for daily reporting
  • OH&S & Risk Certificate or experience


We will fund flights to Wiluna and provide free accommodation for the successful applicant.
