The Role

The Café Coordinator is responsible for the management and operation of the centre’s cafe. They are accountable for managing the financial performance of the program in order to achieve the goals and targets as set out in the annual business plan for the cafe.

 

The Café Coordinator will lead the café staff to ensure the delivery of to the highest standard possible.

 

About you

You will have a passion for customer service. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun, with a flair for working in the hospitality space. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure customers gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from the services provided.

 

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers that have a diverse range of ages, cultures and needs.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Review rosters periodically to ensure efficient operation of the cafe by working with centre management
  • Work with local suppliers to negotiate product supply and maintain ongoing relationships
  • Maintain kitchen standards according to Health Department Regulations
  • Ensure food orders and food stock costs are within budgets at all times
  • Meet business targets - particularly profit margins and wastage levels
  • Ensure all transactions are maintained at a high standard of speed of service

Essential Criteria

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Previous experience leading a casual workforce towards business outcomes
  • Demonstrated business and/or marketing experience
  • Previous experience leading/reporting/monitoring financial outcomes
  • National Police Check
  • Working With Children Check (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 First Aid and current CPR
  • Legally entitled to work in Australia
  • Previous experience in a similar role
