The new Chef will be instrumental in forming and designing the menu, delivering a selection of dishes that draw more customers in and encourages them to return. The Town Merredin is a large country town located 260 km east of Perth, almost half-way to Kalgoorlie. With a rich history dating back to the days of the gold-rush, Merredin has established itself as a central hub for the surrounding areas in business, sports and retail. Merredin has a friendly and welcoming community and is one of the fastest growing towns in WA. The Role Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Chef will lead a small team and run a safe, efficient and profitable kitchen that meets business targets and food preparation standards. The successful candidate will also need to maintain the right food stock levels in order to meet orders for customers. The Chef will produce and plate food of a very high quality to encourage customers to return to the restaurant and give positive recommendations to their networks and friends. While this is a full-time position, we would ask the successful applicant to be flexible in their working hours to accommodate peak periods and private functions. At a minimum, this position will require you to work Tuesday to Saturday – half-days and evenings. Key Accountability
Maintain clean kitchen standards according to Health Department Regulations Ensure food orders and food stock costs are within budget. Work with the Restaurant Manager to maintain profitability Meet and handle all food pre-preparation requirements Leading menu choices and updating as required Offer and present food to a very high standard to ensure customer returns Provide direct service in the bar outside of peak times
ESSENTIAL - Current First Aid (Level 2)

- Working with Children Check (WA)
- Food Handling Certificate
DESIRABLE - Catering experience
- RSA or Approved Bar Manager certification
