 Belgravia Leisure and City Of Sydney Aquatic Club are seeking a full time Head Swim Coach to provide support to the Director of Swimming with the view to achieving the best possible results at a Local Community, and NSW State level. Targeting to build a strong pathway for all swimmers.

 

The Role

Belgravia Leisure and City Of Sydney Aquatic Club (COSAC) are seeking a full time Head Squad Coach to lead the City of Sydney squad program, ensuring the coaching programs consistently meet the needs of the community and aspire to reach industry best practice.

 

We are looking for an experienced Head Squad Coach with a passion for aquatic sports and proven track record of coaching excellence. You will bring your extensive experience in the aquatic industry to develop and deliver high-quality squad programs. Your qualifications will demonstrate your commitment to professional coaching standards.

 

Your technical and program development skills will ensure that our coaching program exceeds community expectations, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, driving program and swimmer performance, and growing community participation.

 

You are a collaborative leader and have a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and engage with a variety of stakeholders, including the squad student guardians, Learn to Swim program team, centre management, Health and Wellbeing team and industry bodies.

 

Your leadership style is supportive and empowering, focused on developing a cohesive and motivated coaching team that consistently delivers high standards. Your strong interpersonal skills and conflict management capabilities enable you to build positive relationships and resolve challenges constructively, ensuring the smooth operation of the program.

 

This is a full-time position with the hours spread across team leadership, face-to-face coaching, program management and carnivals. The role requires flexibility and will work across 3 of the City of Sydney pools, including; Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre and Cook and Phillip Park Pool.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Advanced (previously Silver ) accreditation or higher
  • Performance Swimming Coach Accreditation (desirable)
  • Working with Children
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current First Aid and CPR

 

Experience 

  • Competitive swimmer background

  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Ability to operate Hy-Tek Meet Manager and Swim Central

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience
