We are looking for an up and coming people leader to coach, inspired lead the team!

The Facility

Smithton Wellbeing Indoor Recreation & Leisure (SWIRL) in Tasmania's town of Smithton will provide swimming and water-based recreation spaces as well as including dry program rooms and refurbishment of two existing squash courts into an exercise program room. The facility will consist of a 25-metre pool, six by 12.5 metre program pool and aquatic play, kiosk, squash court and many more facilities. 

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Venue Manager to lead the team to deliver exceptional customer experience on a full-time fixed term basis.

Responsible for the management of this fantastic facility, the team at the Centre and our local community, you are fully accountable for the Centre’s operational, financial and program deliverables.

Inherent in the role is the commitment to ethical practices, to foster strong team motivation and reinforcement of the Belgravia Leisure values, contributing to the positive work culture across the region. To be considered for this role you will be a seasoned, professional applicant, who leads with vision and energy, preferably from within the leisure, fitness, aquatic or facility management sector.

Applicants with strong operational and management experience will have the opportunity to also oversee operation requirements at the centre. Through the leadership and development of your teams, you will support staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences, aquatic safety and contract deliverables for the facility.

About You 

Possessing strong communication skills, you are able to build rapport and positive relationships with people. Ideally you will have experience in managing a team, working on and in the business, and a willingness to be the face of the facility.

With a flair and ability to positive influence and negotiate win-win outcomes, you lead by example. You are tech savvy and have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation. You possess values such as integrity, excellence, courage, openness, respect leadership and accountability. 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong leadership experience with an ability to inspire others
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislative guidelines, evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Demonstrated experience of plant room management and pool operations or ability to obtain
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
• Experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to successful outcomes.
• Pool Life Guard Certificate
• National Police Check
• Working with Children Check
• Current CPR Certificate and  First Aid Certificate
• Legal working rights in Australia
