The Venue

The Role

 

Join Our Team at Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa

 

We are looking for dedicated and customer focused Evening Duty Manager / Supervisors to oversee the evening operations of our Māori Cultural Wellness Centre and Hot Springs Spa.  If you have leadership experience, a passion for hospitality, and an appreciation for Māori cultural values, we’d love to hear from you!

 

Position Details:

  • Role: Permanent Part-Time Evening Duty Manager.
  • Roster: Alternating fortnightly schedule.
  • Includes weekend week. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee evening operations, ensuring a smooth and relaxing experience for all guests
  • Lead and support spa, reception, and operations staff to maintain high service standards
  • Uphold and incorporate Māori cultural values in guest interactions and service delivery
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally
     Conduct safety and cleanliness checks throughout the facility
  • Monitor spa facilities, including pools, saunas, and amenities, ensuring top condition
  • Address operational issues and report key updates to management

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Leadership experience in hospitality, wellness, or a similar industry
  • Strong customer service skills with a calm and professional approach
  • Understanding of Māori cultural values and their importance in a wellness setting
  • Ability to supervise and support staff during evening operations
  • Reliable, proactive, and confident in decision making
  • Duty Manager Licence is a bonus
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Essential

  • First Aid Certificate
  • NZ Police check
  • Pre employment drug test

Desirable

  • Duty Manager Licence (for alcohol service)
  • Ability to understand and speak Te Reo Maori
