Community Bus Driver

Independent Contractor (ABN Holder)

Whitlam Leisure Centre is excited to launch a new Community Bus Service aimed at supporting local residents with accessible and friendly transport around the area. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced and community-minded drivers to operate this service on a contract-for-services basis.

About the Role

As our Community Bus Driver, you will:

• Operate the community bus safely and punctually along designated local routes and schedules.
• Provide courteous and helpful service to passengers, including seniors and individuals with mobility needs.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Ensure compliance with all road safety and transport regulations.
• Invoice Whitlam Leisure Centre for services rendered (ABN required).

Contract Details

• Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (must hold a valid ABN)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM & 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• Job share and flexible options are available
• Application welcome from interested people with full or partial availability
• Location: Local community routes surrounding Whitlam Leisure Centre
• Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate (to be discussed with shortlisted applicants)

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (MR or HR preferred)
• Relevant insurances
• Driver Accreditation or equivalent
• Ability to provide or obtain a valid Working with Children Check
• First Aid & CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain (training can be provided)
• Proven experience in bus or passenger transport driving
• Strong knowledge of road safety and traffic laws
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• A genuine interest in supporting the local community
