The Venue
St Ives Indoor Sport Centre located at St Ives High School in Sydney’s Upper North Shore is set to open in early February 2026. The facility is a collaboration between the Department of Education and Ku-ring-gai Council and includes four sports courts, a multipurpose room, café and underground carpark.
Ku-ring-gai Council has appointed Belgravia Leisure to operate the facility outside of school hours.
The Role
Reporting to the Sports Centre Venue Manager and Duty Manager, the Guest Experience Officer’s primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service to the sports centre patrons and to assist in directing the day-to-day operation of the facility’s programs and services.
We are currently recruiting for a pool of casual Guest Experience Officers with shifts available being a range of day, afternoon and evening shifts. Weekend work will be the predominant shifts available during school terms.
Skills & Attributes:
- Maintain compliance with all safe work methods and risk management procedures by routinely checking all areas of the facility
- Coordinate facility bookings and maintain positive relationship with all internal and external stakeholders
- Perform day to day tasks to ensure the venue operates safely and effectively.
- Coordination and managing all internal sporting competitions in conjunction with the Venue Manager and Duty Manager.
- Cash Handling and managing customer enquiries
- Be responsible for venue opening and closing tasks including venue presentation
- Maintain all program equipment in safe working order and report maintenance issues to senior staff
- Café work will be a requirement of the role as directed by the Venue Manager
- Setup and pack away of court and multi purpose room as required
ESSENTIAL:
- Proven experience in delivering customer service excellence
- Provide current First Aid/ Level 2 First Aid/ Senior First Aid, provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/ CPR Certificate,
- Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
- Ability to establish community connections with groups in the local area
- Strong customer service background
- Knowledge of leisure-based programs
- Knowledge of local council plans to meet the needs of the community
- Must have evening and weekend work availability. Dry site (no aquatics)
- Relevant supervisory experience in a similar position.
- Ability to provide quality supervision in a stadium environment and to handle emergencies.
- Ability and experience in delivering high-quality customer service and in dealing with difficult customers.
DESIRABLE:
- Competent ability with Microsoft Office and prior experience/knowledge of sales processes
- Experience working with multicultural individuals and groups
- Experience with sporting competitions and events
- Oxygen Resuscitation Certificate and Defibrillator Certificate
