BK’s Learn to Swim Clyde North is a purpose-built swim school delivering high-quality lessons for all ages and abilities. As an official provider of Swimming Australia’s GOswim program, we offer structured, progressive swim classes that support water safety, confidence, and lifelong aquatic participation. Whether families are looking for infant water familiarisation, preschool swim classes, or stroke development for older children, this local swim school has a program to suit their needs.

 

The Role

 

BK’s Learn to Swim are seeking an energetic, dynamic and people-focused Assistant Centre Manager to support the delivery of exceptional centre-wide outcomes and provide leadership in the absence of the Centre Manager.

 

This is a key leadership role within the centre, responsible for driving outstanding customer experiences while supporting daily operations, team performance, compliance, and program participation. The successful candidate will lead by example, demonstrate strong communication skills, and have the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

 

This position plays a crucial role in supporting centre leadership and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across customer service, Learn to Swim programs, aquatic supervision, health and safety, and administration. You will work closely with the Centre Manager to deliver operational excellence while ensuring patrons, members and families receive a welcoming and professional experience.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons, members and parents, both in person and over the phone
  • Lead and support the customer service team, ensuring staff are well informed and knowledgeable about centre programs and services
  • Support enrolments and the ongoing success of the Learn to Swim and water safety programs
  • Delivery of swimming lessons, programs, feedback and swim teacher development
  • Managing and supervision of all swim teachers, including staff rosters, and recruitment of new employees
  • Assist in managing the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager
  • Respond to community enquiries and booking requests
  • Ensure accurate daily cash handling and reconciliation using POS systems
  • Implement and maintain effective customer service and operational processes
  • Ensure staff and patrons understand aquatic supervision and safety requirements
  • Conduct safe and efficient operations in line with legislative requirements, WHS obligations, Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations, and NSW Health regulations
  • Meet reporting and administrative requirements with a high level of attention to detail
  • Assist with driving centre attendance, program participation, sales targets and KPIs

About You

 

You will be an experienced team leader with a passion for customer service and operational excellence. You are flexible, resilient, adaptable, and open to feedback, with the ability to lead and motivate others in a fast-paced environment.

 

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in leadership or people management
  • Background in Health, Fitness, Aquatics, Retail or Business
  • Strong customer service, sales and communication skills
  • Ability to achieve targets and KPIs
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualification in Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification
  • Customer service mindset
  • Financial management experience
  • Strong sales acumen
  • Fanatical customer service mindset
  • Passionate about children’s development in sport and sporting skills
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate

DESIRABLE:

  • Knowledge of child learn to swim programming and the aquatics industry
