As a key member of our Centre’s Leadership Team, the Assistant Centre Manager assists the Centre Manager with the people and process revenue, and all other operational elements of a recreation and/or aquatic centre covered by the ‘City of Sydney Contract’. The Role The roles focus on helping to deliver centre-wide results, while also being responsible for leading and managing the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager. This requires the position holder to lead by example and hold a range of skills and capabilities across all centre functions including customer experience, learn to swim programs, health and safety compliance, and pool operations. Crucial role to provide centre leadership and assist with driving leisure centre attendance and program participation, in a context of health, safety and compliance. With key accountabilities for Sales, Patron Experience, Risk Mitigation and Compliance Prior experience in industry sectors such as Health, Fitness, Aquatics, Hospitality, Tourism, Retail or Business is looked on favourably. You will be a proven team leader or people management and have an overall ability to lead, motivating a team and developing others. Our leaders demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, resilience, and ability to accept feedback. You will need to also have an understanding of WHS and risk including the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations and NSW Health regulations. Qualifications: - Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Certificate

Key Responsibilities: Lead the department teams to ensure safe and efficient aquatic operations. Supervise a large diverse workforce across all facility functions. Coordinate centre‑wide events and maintain the organisation's social media presence. Support the Guest Experience Team Leader by managing escalations and implementing service improvements. Provide key support to the Aquatic Program Coordinator by overseeing the swim school, including bookings and program coordination. Support the Health Club Coordinator by overseeing daily health club operations and group fitness scheduling.
