Belgravia Leisure is proud to have re-won the contract to operate the City of Sydney’s world-class aquatic and recreation facilities, a rare, high-profile opportunity that will shape the future of community health, wellbeing and inclusion across Sydney. We are now seeking an experienced Transition Manager to lead the end-to-end mobilisation of this landmark contract and ensure a seamless, confident and inspiring commencement of services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Transition Manager will orchestrate all planning, people, systems and operational readiness activities to ensure day-one excellence across six iconic centres. This is a high-impact project leadership role requiring strong governance, exceptional coordination skills and the ability to bring diverse stakeholders together around a shared vision. This role is anticipated to be required for 6 months, however, there may be a requirement for this to be extended.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end transition project plan, ensuring all milestones and contractual deliverables are achieved
• Coordinate completion of Business Plans and all supporting contract documentation
• Drive workforce planning and recruitment coordination in partnership with People & Culture
• Lead consultation planning and manage workplace change impacts
• Coordinate implementation of new initiatives and operational improvements aligned to contract requirements
• Track risks, dependencies and mitigations across all transition workstreams
• Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards and updates for internal leaders and the City of Sydney
• Ensure systems, processes, policies and documentation are aligned for day-one readiness
• Facilitate regular transition meetings and maintain strong project governance
• Support senior leaders with strategic decision-making and stakeholder engagement

About You

You are a confident, detail-driven project leader who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by meaningful community impact. You bring demonstrated experience leading complex projects or service transitions, exceptional organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, strong planning and risk management capability, and the ability to support teams through significant change. Experience in leisure, sport, local government or similar service environments is highly regarded.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in project management, business, sport/recreation or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Working with Children Check
• National Police Check
• First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
• Flexibility to travel between sites and attend key meetings, including early mornings, evenings or weekends
