The Company

 

Belgravia Health and Leisure Group proudly manage the City of Sydney's five Iconic Aquatic and fitness leisure centres (Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, Cook and Phillip Park Fitness and Aquatic Centre, Andrew 'Boy' Charlton Pool, Victoria Park Swimming Pool and Prince Alfred Park Pool) 

 

The Role  

 

We’re looking for a vibrant and supportive HR leader to over see our Group People Plan for the City of Sydney. Working alongside the Regional Manager, as a true partner, this role supports our 5 venue managers and their leadership teams. Collectively this client group is 350 people strong.

 

The core areas of focus of this role are:

  • Coaching and mentoring venue leaders and their teams
  • Team engagement
  • Centralise group recruitment and onboarding
  • Managing and executing the group training plan
  • Advocacy and coaching on group policies
  • Workplace health & safety including child safety

This is a true generalist HR role with lots of scope for new learning and experiences in a fast-paced organisation.  We proudly manage these facilities on behalf of the City of Sydney and they are a valuable and important partner and this role works to deliver compliance and excellence within this contract. 

 

About You

 

You will be a passionate and patient partner to our leaders in order to support and coach quality people outcomes. You must have a talent of managing multiple stakeholders. A flexible and logical thinker, you will like structure and have a good mind for governance which drive policy excellence. Above all, you enjoy working with people and know that sometimes a conversation just needs a ‘people’ point of view.

Your contributions will drive the professionalism and the culture of the client group. This role is hands-on and requires someone who is willing to support in ways that may challenge the traditional views of the role of HR. A team player, you do what needs to be done.

 

ESSENTIAL

  • Graduate qualifications in HR or business or progress towards qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, preferably in human resource management and service delivery
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice and guidance across a range of short-term operational HR matters and long-term HR solutions
  • Sound knowledge of relevant employment legislation, including relevant Acts (including but not limited to the Fair Work Act), Regulations and Standards
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building and maintaining an engaged or high performing team
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and an ability to produce high quality, professional documentation

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of workforce issues facing the aquatic facility management environment
