Purpose of the Role Belgravia Leisure New Zealand is seeking a warm, organised, and community-minded coordinator to support inclusion, engagement, and social impact across our national venue network. Working alongside Venue Managers, the Business Operations Manager, and reporting directly to the NZ General Manager, the National Community Inclusion Coordinator will help build stronger connections with iwi, hapū, whānau, schools, community organisations, priority groups, and local partners. The role has a strong focus on Aotearoa New Zealand, including culturally grounded participation, inclusive customer experiences, workforce capability, and practical administration for Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa. It is suited to someone who enjoys bringing people together, creating structure, following through on details, and helping community ideas become practical action across multiple sites.
The primary focus of the role will be to:
National venue support - Support Venue Managers and the Business Operations Manager to translate national community inclusion priorities into practical local plans.
- Provide coordination, templates, checklists, and follow-up support for venue-level engagement, community activation, accessibility initiatives, and inclusion projects.
- Maintain a national view of community inclusion activities, upcoming events, agreed actions, and evidence required for contract, council, and internal reporting.
Iwi, hapu, whanau, and community engagement - Coordinate engagement activity with local iwi, hapu, whanau, schools, community groups, accessibility partners, and priority communities, in collaboration with venue leaders.
- Support regular hui, advisory input, relationship tracking, and follow-up actions where appropriate.
- Assist venues to co-design programmes that reflect local identity, community priorities, and hauora outcomes.
- Support culturally authentic customer experiences, including te reo Maori, tikanga, local storytelling, and relevant national or regional events such as Matariki and Waitangi Day.
Inclusion, accessibility, and participation - Assist venues to develop inclusive programmes for Maori, Pasifika, disabled people, rangatahi, tamariki, older adults, and other underrepresented groups.
- Coordinate information, partner feedback, and simple reporting to help reduce barriers to participation.
- Support whānau-based recreation, aquatic safety, school pathways, holiday programmes, community days, ambassador initiatives, and outreach activity where aligned to local venue plans.
- Help venues gather community stories, evidence of participation outcomes, and examples of social connection.
Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa administration - Provide administrative support for Belgravia Foundation Aotearoa activity, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minutes, action registers, document filing, and follow-up tracking.
- Maintain accurate records for Foundation-related initiatives, community partnerships, funding activity, grants, donations, sponsorships, programme participation, and impact evidence.
- Support communications between the NZ General Manager, venue teams, Foundation representatives, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare draft updates, short reports, case studies, board-ready summaries, and impact snapshots for review by the NZ General Manager.
- Assist with coordinating Foundation events, campaigns, volunteer activity, fundraising support, recognition content, and community activation opportunities across Aotearoa.
- Monitor deadlines, approvals, governance requirements, and follow-up items relating to Foundation administration.
This role will be Part time - 3 days per week About you - You are highly organised, people-first, and comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders across a national portfolio.
- You bring confidence in administration, document control, minute taking, action tracking, reporting support, and communication coordination.
- You understand the importance of respectful engagement in Aotearoa New Zealand and are willing to keep learning about te ao Maori, tikanga, and community-led practice.
- You can work with Venue Managers to turn ideas into practical actions, while keeping the NZ General Manager informed on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- You are comfortable gathering evidence, preparing short updates, and presenting information clearly for operational, council, community, and governance audiences.
