The Role:

This is an opportunity to lead three important community facilities around Port Pirie.

As the Multi-Site Venue Manager, you will oversee operations across the Port Pirie Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Port Pirie Sporting Precinct, and Crystal Brook Swimming Pool, ensuring they remain safe, welcoming and well-run for the communities they serve.

Whether your leadership experience has been gained in manufacturing, heavy industry, logistics, mining, community services or recreation, you'll be responsible for bringing people together, building strong teams, maintaining high safety standards and delivering reliable day-to-day operations, while driving the commercial acumen of the organisation.

This hands-on leadership role carries accountability for operational performance, financial outcomes, people leadership, facility standards and community engagement. Working closely with local stakeholders, you will lead from the front and create an environment where both employees and community members can thrive.

Key Accountabilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Council, community groups and facility users.

• Lead, support and develop a large team across three venues.

• Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

• Coach and mentor team leaders to achieve operational and people outcomes.

• Recruit, train and develop employees to support the continued success of the facilities.

• Ensure all facilities are maintained to a high standard and meet contractual requirements.

• Drive operational efficiency, service excellence and positive community outcomes.

About You:

You are a people-first operational leader who understands the value of teamwork, accountability and leading by example. You may come from a manufacturing, industrial, operations, logistics, customer service or recreation background, having led medium to large teams in environments where safety, reliability and people leadership are critical to success. You know how to build trust with employees, support workforce development and create a positive workplace culture. 

Experience in aquatics or leisure is welcomed, but not essential. We provide support for industry-specific training and qualifications.

You either hold, or are willing to obtain:

- Pool Plant Certificate
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Swimming Instructor Qualification

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated experience leading medium to large teams within a complex operational environment.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety systems and practices.

• Experience delivering operational, financial and workforce plans.

• Proven ability to develop people, improve team performance and build positive workplace cultures.

Qualifications:

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate*
• National Police Check*
• Working With Children Check*
